Cserszegtomaj
The village is located four kilometres from Keszthely and two kilometres from Hévíz, in the south-western part of the Keszthely Hills. With its 19 square kilometres it is the largest village in Europe. Cserszegtomaj is the home of the world-famous Cserszeg spicy grape and wine variety, which can still be found in the vineyards today.

Hévíz

Hévíz is one of the most popular and dynamically developing spa towns in Hungary and Europe, visited all year round. The main attraction of Hévíz is the 4.4 ha spa lake. It is the largest peat-bottomed warm water lake in the world. Its deepest point is 38.5 metres. Its water is heated by geothermal energy and its temperature is due to warm spring and karst waters. The water temperature ranges from a minimum of 22 °C in winter to 35 °C in summer. It is suitable for the external care of bones and joints and for the treatment of inflammatory diseases.

Keszthely

Keszthely is a town of nearly 23 000 inhabitants in the north-western corner of Lake Balaton. It is one of the most populous towns on the coast, a cultural and educational centre rich in tradition, and a university town. It is one of the most visited town of Lake Balaton, one of the most important tourist destinations in the region, one of the most populated and cultural centres of the region, with a cosy and patina town, monuments, museums, outstanding cultural events and the proximity of Hévíz.

Rezi
Distance: 6 km
Rezi's landmark is the castle ruin belonging to the village. The castle was built on a dolomite rock on the northern part of the Meleg hill, which rises above the village. Today, only the residential tower and the castle walls remain as a tell-tale. The Gyöngyösi tavern, a monument with a crowded roof, was a favourite residence of the Bakony outlaw Jóska Savanyó, and is still a restaurant. Next to it is the grave of two famous outlaws, Jóska Sobri and Jóska Savanyú.

Gyenesdiás
Distance: 9 km
Gyenesdiás is located on the shores of Lake Balaton in Zala, in the West Lake Balaton region, at the foot of the Keszthelyi Mountains. Nagymező is one of the most popular hiking destinations in the Keszthelyi Mountains, with the most beautiful hiking trails in the area leading to the 3-storey Festetics and Berzsenyi Lookout.

Zalaszántó
Distance: 10 km
The village of Zalaszántó is surrounded by a beautiful landscape. The Buddhist peace shrine in Zalaszántó, built in 1992, is unique in Hungary. It is the largest stupa in Europe and the first of its kind in Eastern Europe.

Vonyarcvashegy

Vonyarcvashegy is a popular resort village on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, on the southern slopes of the Keszthely Hills. The streets of the village of nearly 2400 inhabitants wind from the shores of the Balaton bay in Keszthely to the top of the Keszthely Mountains, where visitors can enjoy a magnificent panorama.
